What do I need?

An iPhone with iOS 26 or later, AirPods and about 6 GB of free space. The translator is downloaded once (about 5 GB); after that the App works without the internet. Tested on iPhone 17 Pro Max; other iPhone models have not been tested yet.

How do I start?

Put in your AirPods, choose the language of the person you are talking to at the top of the screen and tap the microphone. The translation appears on the screen and is spoken into your AirPods.

Can I lock the phone?

Yes. Translation continues with the screen locked and the phone in your pocket. On a locked phone iOS runs the translator on the processor rather than the graphics chip, so the voice may come a little later.

How do I start it from my pocket?

Add the “Translation in AirPods” control to Control Center, the Lock Screen or the Action button (Settings → Action Button → Controls). Or turn on “Start Translation on Open” in the App’s settings.

What if I take an AirPod out?

Translation continues on the screen and nothing is spoken through the phone’s speaker. When the earbud is back, everything you missed is spoken, a little faster to catch up.

Which languages are supported?

The person you talk to can speak one of the languages listed in the App; the translation is spoken in Russian.

How do I manage my subscription?

Open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple.

Is my conversation recorded?

No. Audio is processed as it is heard and is not stored. Nothing leaves your iPhone without your consent. See the Privacy Policy.
